Welcome to my newly designed blog!
Today I spent a bit of time fiddling with the template in blogger to re-do the look of my blog. I have been wanting to do it for a long time, but I finally got around to it today. It is not perfect, but I am way more happy with it than I was before.
Here's what I did:
1. Banner: I wanted a new banner. The old one I had was just something I whipped up a few months ago with the complete intention of changing it later. I wanted to design something more breezy, pretty and true to my art style. I drew the design into a notebook with a black, felt-tip pen. Then I scanned the image into my computer and used Photoshop to crop it down and clean it up. I then went into the Layout section of Blogger to add it onto my blog.
2. Profile Picture and Blurb: I used a photo which a dear friend of mine took while we were in Wheaton in England. You should stop by her Facebook page and check out her amazing work. I wanted the photo to be round, because that is all the rage these days. To do that I used Photoshop and saved the round, cropped image as a Web file PNG. I also added text to the photo. I didn't know how much to share. I also wrote that stuff about talking like a pirate. That was a tad weird, but I was like, "Hey, if they're gonna read my blog they may as well know the way things roll around here."
3. Font: I wanted to update the font as well. I have been using Arial for FOREVER. I changed to Courier. I guess I wanted to be cool and have people think that I am a hipster who writes on a vintage typewriter...on my computer. Whatevs, Guys. Just go with it.
4. Photo Size: I used to have massive photos. I have now decided to scale 'em down just to be a little less overwhelming.
Well, that's pretty much all I did! Do you like the changes? Do you remember what it looked like before? I don't.
Love,
Lucy Rose
PS
Here is another post about makeovers. Enjoy!
